Composition for the exam

Hi Sara,
You're probably surprised. Well, that's normal because I didn't write to you in the last four months. The reason why I send you this e-mail is because next sunday (4th of October) is John's birthday. I know that you and I weren't good friends. But this time, I want you to come to the party. I'm sure than John will be happy if you come. He is still friends with you.
I hope you don't mind that I'll go to the party too.
I'm waiting for your answer,
Maria.

He is a reporter on “the Daily Echo”. His first job had been in a small town in Scotland where he spent two years writing about sheep stealing. Now he’s writing about crime and diamonds stealing.
He studied journalism at the Journalist academy of Manchester. But because of some problems with his family, he had to go to Scotland for work. In Scotland he worked in a newspaper called “The fresh news” for two years. Then, he came to Manchester to work in “the Daily Echo”.
